大河美術即將舉辦越南藝術家Mai Ta首度於亞洲的個展《The Heart》，回歸其過往不斷追尋卻始終未能真正擁有的純粹狀態。藝術家直面因見證悲劇而生的無力感，並將之視為人類處境中與生俱來的一部分。展覽既是個人化的書寫，也是對集體符號逐漸失效的誠實凝視。展期恰逢第十四屆臺北雙年展《Whispers on the Horizon》，使 Mai Ta 的創作自然地進入亞洲藝術家與國際語境的交會場域。 當最後一筆刷痕落下，藝術的力量是否終止？當內心世界叛變，僅殘留如樹脂般黏稠而無盡的痕跡時，該如何承受？倘若夢境化為占卜者，心靈舉起白旗，自我構築的世界逐漸瓦解，藝術家又該如何安置自身？Mai Ta將一切交付給那些既承載個人創傷與記憶，也折射歷史無常的符號。失效的圖像，將如何映照世界劇變下的失聲與共同的感知裂縫？我們誠摯地邀請您走入這間直面自我的房間。 RIVER ART GALLERY will present “The Heart,” the first solo exhibition in Asia by Vietnamese artist Mai Ta, marking a return to a state of purity she has long pursued yet never truly possessed. The artist confronts the sense of impotence that arises from witnessing tragedy and acknowledges it as an intrinsic part of the human condition. The exhibition serves both as a deeply personal narrative and as an unflinching meditation on the gradual erosion of collective symbols. Coinciding with the 14th Taipei Biennial, “Whispers on the Horizon”, the exhibition situates Mai Ta’s practice within the intersection of Asian artistic voices and the broader international discourse. When the final brushstroke falls, does the power of art come to an end? When the inner world rebels, leaving behind only resinous traces—viscous and unending—how does one endure? If the dream turns into a soothsayer, the heart raises a white flag, and the self-constructed world begins to dissolve, how does the artist find her place once more? Mai Ta entrusts everything to her symbols—forms that bear both personal trauma and memory while reflecting the impermanence of history. How do we perceive the collective loss of voice amid upheaval, and the fractures that run through our shared sensibilities through these fading images?
